Agenda For Week Starting March 2nd, 2009

9th Grade English

Monday- Journal entry. Start presentations for the African American Historical Figure Assignment.

Tuesday- Reader's minute. Continue the presentations for the African American Historical Figure Assignment.

Wednesday- Word of the week. Finish the presentations for the African American Historical Figure Assignment.

Thursday- PARENT / TEACHER CONFERENCES Words most often confused. Pass back and go over memoirs. Read "Freedom Writers," and identify the elements of a memoir.

Friday- Writing tip of the week and SSR. Read "Darkness by noon, and identify the traits of a memoir.

11th Grade English

Monday- Journal entry. Introduce the Canterbury Tales Project. Pass out the stories, and the students may begin working on the project.

Tuesday- Reader's minute. Pass back the persuasive essays and go over them. Continue working on the Chaucer assignment.

Wednesday- Word of the week. Continue working on the Chaucer assignment.

Thursday- Words most often confused. Continue working on the Chaucer assignment.

Friday- Writing Tip and SSR. Write a persuasive essay.

Agenda for week starting 2/23/09

9th Grade English

Monday - Journal entry. Write the rough draft of your African American Historical Figure essay.
Tuesday - Reader's minute. Collect bell work from 2/09-2/20. I will check to see that you have your rough draft done. Peer edit drafts.
Wednesday - Word of the week. Start writing your final draft.
Thursday - Words most often confused. Continue your final draft.
Friday - Finish your final draft and prepare your presentation for Monday. Presentations will be on Monday and your essay is due on Monday.

11th Grade English.

Monday - Journal. Reading test.
Tuesday - Reader's minute. Collect bell work from 2/09-2/20. Introduce "Frankenstein" vocabulary words.
Wednesday- Word of the week.Study your words.
Thursday- Words most often confused. Study your words and review your persuasive essay.
Friday - Writing tip of the week. Finish studying your words and reviewing your persuasive essay.

9th Grade English

Monday - No school.
Tuesday - Journal. Free reader's minute. Finish the final draft of your memoir.
Wednesday - Word of the week. Collected the memoirs. Introduction of the African American Historical Figure Presentation and Essay. Get both handouts.
Thursday - 1/2 Day. Words most often confused. Research for presentations. Complete tasks for day 1, and show me your work to get credit.
Friday - Writing tip of the week. Do more research for our projects, and complete day 2 tasks.

11th Grade English

Monday - No school.
Tuesday - Journal entry. Free reader's minute. Go over persuasive essays and pronoun and antecedent agreement worksheets.
Wednesday - Word of the week. Complete the personal information portion of the ACT answer documents.
Thursday - 1/2 Day. Words most often confused. Continue ACT documents.
Friday - Writing tip of the week. Finish ACT documents. Write another persuasive essay.

9TH Grade English

Monday - Journal Entry. Collected bell work. Reviewed for tomorrow's test on "To Kill a Mockingbird." Finished the movie.

Tuesday- Reader's Minute. Test on "To Kill a Mockingbird."

Wednesday- Word of the week.Introduction to the writing unit. Explore quotations.

Thursday- Words most often confused. Complete the memoir assignment and create a timeline of important events in you life.

Friday- Writing tip of the week and SSR. Write a memoir of 1 important event in your life. Use the timeline rubric and the definition of a memoir.


11TH Grade English

Monday - Journal Entry. Collect bell work. Continue reading "The Pardoner's Tale." Pick a tale to explore independantly.

Tuesday- Reader's minute. Learned about pronoun and antecedant agreement. Completed the worksheet on pronoun and antacedant agreement.

Wednesday- Word of the week. Finish reading "Pardoner's Tale." Finish the study guide. Review for the quiz tomorrow.

Thursday- Words most often confused. Quiz on the "Pardoner's Tale." Collected the study guides.

Friday- Writing tip of the week and SSR. Introduce the vocabulary words for "Frankenstein."
